MEMORANDUM

During the session, MSAN presented its memorandum on the FY2024/2025 Migori County Budget Estimates. Key points of the memorandum included: -
  1. Highlighting county budgets that adversely affect child well-being safeguards and advocating for their halt until a thorough review of their impact on child well-being is conducted;

  3. Requesting an increase in budgetary allocations for social protection programs for children;
This memorandum aligns with MSAN's mission to empower citizens, strengthen democratic governance, and promote social justice by fostering transparency, accountability, and active citizen participation in decision-making processes. By focusing on child protection and well-being, MSAN aims to ensure that the county budget supports the most vulnerable members of society and creates an environment where children can thrive. Additionally, MSAN presented a petition to the Migori County Government, compelling it to publish and make public the 2023/2024 Quarter 3 Implementation Report. This petition was aimed at enhancing transparency and ensuring that the community has access to essential information regarding the county's budget implementation.
